The sun still rose in the east

This past week, a tragic thing occured: my dear sweet Mother drowned while swimming in the ocean. Every year for the last several, we have been going to the beach to spend time together.  While there every year, I get up in the morning to see the sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean.  I got up the morning after the tragedy, and took this photo.  It seems a little darker than the sunrises of years past, but yes, the sun still rose in the east...life goes on...I miss you dearly, Mom.

Double Rainbow

We were in Valdosta the other day and after a short rain shower while we were eating dinner, check out the cool double rainbow over the restaurant...

Government Handouts

The free handout programs our Government has initiated do NOT help people -- they merely enslave them in a terrible cycle that causes them to take the path of least resistance and lean on the government.  Consider the following:

The SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)/Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is pleased to be distributing the greatest amount of free meals and food stamps ever.

Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us to "Please Do Not Feed The Animals." They say that this is because the animals may grow dependent on handouts and not learn to take care of themselves.

Memorial Day - Words of Wisdom

“I have no illusions about what little I can add now to the silent testimony of those who gave their lives willingly for their country. Words are even more feeble on this Memorial Day, for the sight before us is that of a strong and good nation that stands in silence and remembers those who were loved and who, in return, loved their countrymen enough to die for them.

Yet, we must try to honor them—not for their sakes alone, but for our own. And if words cannot repay the debt we owe these men, surely with our actions we must strive to keep faith with them and with the vision that led them to battle and to final sacrifice. Our first obligation to them and ourselves is plain enough: The United States and the freedom for which it stands, the freedom for which they died, must endure and prosper.

Their lives remind us that freedom is not bought cheaply. It has a cost; it imposes a burden. And just as they whom we commemorate were willing to sacrifice, so too must we—in a less final, less heroic way—be willing to give of ourselves.”

Words of Wisdom

Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men! Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers. Pray for power equal to your tasks.

Silly Signs on Sunday

This sign was on a door to a post office in Phoenix, Arizona.  Note that it says "Please control your children."  I guess they have a bunch of unruly kids and parents that cannot control them.

Why you should not speed...

The video below provides a very graphic depiction of why you should not speed: the amount of distance that it takes to stop a vehicle increases with the square of the speed.  That means that if you double your speed, it takes four times as much distance to stop.  In the video, two vehicles are traveling side by side at slightly different speeds approaching an obstruction in the roadway.  An important note: this video was produced by a researcher at Monash University in Australia; so they are talking about kilometers per hour rather than miles per hour.  One vehicle is going 60 kph (roughly 37 mph), the other is going 65 kph (roughly 40 mph).  When the narrator talks about "five k's" of difference, that is a difference of just three miles per hour.

The Battle We Are In...

Many people do not realize the intense battle we are immersed in for truth: The pagan world that is around us celebrated Darwin Day yesterday: celebrating the 203rd birthday of Charles Darwin.

Clearly demonstrating that evolution is the object of their worship, the National Academies (using your tax dollars) sent out an e-mail yesterday in celebration of Darwin Day (Click here for the announcement from the National Academies of Pseudo-Science). In it, they give glory to Darwin for all of the "enlightenment" that came from his still-unproven theory. One of the books that they advertise through this is "Science, Evolution, and Creationism." In this book, they attempt to say that evolution is settled science and that creationism, or even "intelligent design" is based on fairy tales and fables. However, if you study what they have, basically what they tell you is that you are to believe that evolution is true because they say so...that enlightened scientists know the answers and you just have to believe them.

The evidence points to an intelligent creator: the Creator (with a capital C) described in the Bible. For much more on this, click on the Creation Ministries International link at the bottom of the page. DO NOT BE DECEIVED. Evolution is a false theory without any scientific support. It will lead you to Hell.
